C. Mistric Surveyors, Inc., in Baton Rouge, LA, is a family-owned, operated, fully licensed, and insured company serving commercial, industrial, and residential customers across Louisiana. We are members of the Ascension Planning Commission and the National Veterans Business Development Council (NVBDC) and are licensed through the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors. The company was founded in 1968 by Carl L. Mistric, P.R.L.S.

A Pioneer and Leader in the Electronic Era of Land Survey

Prior to incorporating C. Mistric Surveyors, Inc. in 1968, Carl L. Mistric P.R.L.S., supervised surveying services for 15 years for various engineering firms and the Louisiana Department of Transportation. He supervised field parties doing precise control surveys to establish the Coast and Geodetic Monuments network throughout Louisiana. Carl L. Mistric has been a pioneer and leader in the electronic era of surveying, being one of the first companies in Louisiana to incorporate Electronic Surveying equipment in the 1960s.

  • Mr. Mistric was a founding member of the Louisiana State Society of Professional Surveyors, which was established in 1963 to enhance the surveying profession in Louisiana. 
  • The goals Mr. Mistric helped this the Louisiana State Society of Professional Surveyors create are as follows:
  • Maintaining a high technical and cultural standard for entrance to this society.
  • Cooperating with educational institutions in the maintenance of high standards of education in Land Surveying.
  • Requiring a high standard of ethical practice by members of the Society
  • Aiding in the adoption of high standard of attainment for the granting of the legal right to practice Professional Land Surveying.
  • Fostering among students of Land Surveying the study of philosophy and history, tradition and achievement, duties and social functions of the Land Surveying Profession.
  • Encouraging the personal and professional development of young Land Surveyors.
  • Supporting activities looking to be increased employment of Land Surveyors and seeking new opportunities for service in Land Surveying


  • April 2007: Carl L. Mistric received the Surveyors Excellence Award 2006-2007 from the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors for his diligent efforts to enhance the surveying industry.
  • April 2011: Carl L. Mistric was recognized for an appreciation award for his 50+ years of dedication, loyalty, and untiring service to the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors.

Meet Our Team of Professional Land Surveyors

Russel L. Mistric developed proficiency in surveying at a young age through apprenticeship with his father, Carl L. Mistric, and was actively involved in all aspects of survey work. After serving in the Air Force in 1973, he continued his pursuit of surveying and obtained his license in 1988. In 2007, Russel was appointed President of C. Mistric Surveyors, Inc.


Russel has extensive expertise in various surveying domains, including Industrial Plant Layout, Industrial Plant Monumentation, Geodetic Monumentation, Pipeline Surveys, Construction Layout, Landfill Surveys, Highway/Road Construction, Hazardous Waste Surveys, Property Surveys, and GPS Surveying.
